Formerly known as B & B Polytechnic the institute came into existence in 1958. It offers the following courses:
a. Civil Engineering (DCE)
b. Electrical Engineering (DEE)
c. Mechanical Engineering (DME)
d. Electronics & Communication Engineering (DEC)
e. Computer Engineering (DCE)
f. Information Technology (Self-financed) (DIT)
g. Electronics & Communication (Self-financed) (DEC)

Any one passing Secondary School Certificate Examination, i.e,

1. 10th science is eligible for admission on the basis of merit.

2. Distance Learning Programme (DLM) Admission to the programme is centralized. The student (employed or non-employed) is provided with self instructional printed material which he studies at home. He is required to submit assignments at regular intervals. However, he is required to come to the institute for ten days for practical sessions (direct learning). Eligibility for admission to the programme is the same as in (1) above, that is, SSC with English, Mathematics and Science from the State of Gujarat. The following courses are run under this pattern:
  a. Mechanical Engineering
  b. Civil Engineering
  c. Electrical Engineering

3. Post-Diploma in Dairy Engineering (PDDE)

4. Advanced Diploma in Structural Engineering (ADSE): One who has passed DME or DEE is eligible for admission to the course. One who has passed Diploma in Civil Engineering is eligible for admission.

The Institute’s ISTE faculty and student chapter has been rated as the best chapter and has won awards five times. Dr. Pradip Niranjanbhai Patel & I. B. Patel Trust have made donations for upgradation of workshop in the Department of Engineering & laboratory in the Department of Electronics & Communication, respectively.
