The centre, perhaps the only one of its kind in the Gujarat State, houses a library and reading room, especially for school-children with a view to encouraging children to form the habit of reading and thereby cultivate good tastes. Members of the family of Late Shapurbhai Patel donated a handsome amount and an equal amount Charutar Vidya Mandal. The centre, born in 2001, is spoken high of for its architecture and collection of children's literature.

The institution also boasts of a computer centre, for which Shri Chunibhai Ishwarbhai Patel of Jitodia has donated funds.
